The BIZANCI looks back on the early historical days, the time of the East Roman Empire; raises a monument to the memory of this age and draws on the Byzantine culture. The trademark of the jewels made by us bears the name of this age: BIZANCI.

The attachement is not accidental… The individuality of our jewels derives from the particular enamel technique. The speciality of this technique is that the contours of the subsequently represented figure are constructed from rare metal wires, which are regularly folded out from more pieces and fixed onto the basic plate by the master. These gold or silver threads compose well delimitable pieces. These are called cells, which will be filled in with other and other coloured enamels.

Finally, following the burning the enamelled surface of the jewel is polished as long as the cells (the rare metal bands) and the enamel come to one plane.
The cellular enamel technique was in its prime in the early Byzantium. It was a popular decoration process among the goldsmith masters of the empire, and was adopted on extremely high level.

This
special process requires a lot of time and patience because of its production difficulties, which is undertaken by a few people. That’s why this technique has almost disappeared up to these days.
For
this reason the BIZANCI would like to disclose this recalled technique to the inquiring public, delight its wearers with its particular appearance, emphasizing the individuality of the jewel and its owner.
